Hello We are a breeding and boarding cattery dedicated to breeding quality cats with superb type and temperament.

We are located in Adelaide, South Australia situated on a five acre property in the foothills at Yatala Vale in Tea Tree Gully. We have been breeding British Shorthairs since 1996 when we started with Zwei Farbe and Britlyn bloodlines.

We breed especially for temperament and have very placid cats that are not inclined to wander, love children and get along extremely well with dogs.

Here at Bethnlee we breed Blue, Blue Cream, Cream, Black, Chocolate, Lilac, Bi-Colours and Colour Points.

General Appearance
The British Shorthair cat is compact,well balanced and powerfull, showing good depth of body, a full chest, strong short legs, and round paws.
The tail is thick at the base with a rounded tip.
The head is rounded with a good width between small ears, rounded cheeks,firm chin,large round eyes and a short broad nose.
The coat is short and dense. A muscular cat with an alert appearance. Males can weigh up to 8 Kgs and females 4 - 6 Kgs. Desexed cats generally weigh a little more.
They are the heaviest breed of cat.

Colours
British Shorthairs are now available in 34 different colours with blue being the most popular followed by black,bi-colours,chocolate,lilac, cream and colour points.

Temperament
They are placid,not demanding,tolerant,docile and respectfull. They are home loving and would rather lie on your lap or by the fire than run around the yard.
British are not vocal cats and in fact are very quiet and cope with being alone without fretting.
The British Shorthair is truly a peoples cat.
